Vocational Evaluation
This program gives individuals to learn more about themselves, their strengths, and their interests. Hands-On experiences, interest assessment, vocational testing, and individual vocational counseling are used to give a complete picture of work ability and interest. This is then used to assist individuals in developing an effective plan to return to work or pursue training.
Experiences in Vocational Evaluation is highly individualized and can include focus in a particular area, or can include tryouts of several on and off site work settings.
On Site Experiences include packaging/assembly, food service, office technologies, building maintenance, and building trades. Individually tailored evaluations have also included tryouts in assisted living settings, child care, animal care, stock work, shadowing of nursing staff, retail work. Individuals with college degrees as well as individuals who lack basic skills have benefited from the direction found with this program.
A recent addition to our program has been PowerPath ®to Basic Learning. This is a comprehensive system that offers a combination of tools to identify very specific obstacles to learning. Screening tools include auditory, visual, perceptual, academic, and cognitive measures.
